Véronique Fel (1969 - )

Biography

Véronique Fel discovered photography at school. Not being able to draw, she turned to this art, and her pictures became her drawings.  It was a revelation. What an adventure to be able to immortalise everything that touches and interests her. Wishing to give a chance to everything around her to find its place in her composition, she also learns to be very patient.

This attraction for the image will lead her on the path of university studies in cinema and video.  This was followed by almost twenty years of a first career in production within two large TV news agencies in Paris. In 2010, she decided to follow her inner voice and leave everything to devote herself fully to her passion: photography.

Light is the essence of this art. She discovered the pictorial and graphic appeal of the light of the zenith. However, this light is disparaged in the world of photography.  Difficult to capture, it has been said to be blinding and overwhelming.  Véronique discovers it to be sensitive, fascinating and daring.  Despite its complexity, she is inspired by this light and chooses to tame it.  To this artistic choice, she links her eye, her feeling.  The midday sun is the tool that allows her to express her point of view on a situation, an experience.   The shadows disappear, the bright colours seem unreal, as if painted, and the lines, drawn. She finds her signature.

By photographing the moment, Véronique Fel draws up a disconcerting and fascinating aesthetic report of the reality of our time and its paradoxes.
